Adedeji Adeleke, Businessman and father of Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has attributed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the Osun State governorship election to his strong faith in God.
Adedeji Adeleke spoke in a video shared after Saturday’s governorship election, where he reflected on the outcome of the poll and explained why he was confident that his younger brother, Ademola Adeleke, would emerge victorious despite what he described as the financial strength of the opposition.
According to him, the Adeleke family did not win because they were more powerful or had more money, but because of their belief in God.
“Record me and play it to him, let him hear. Let him know the reason why we defeated Oyetola, it’s not because we are bigger than him and why I was not afraid was not because we have more money, we didn’t even spend any money on election day, it was because my belief in God Almighty is very strong,” he said.

Adedeji further alleged that about N60 billion was spent during the election, claiming that vote-buying took place in some areas, with voters allegedly offered as much as N50,000 for a single vote.
He said he became aware of the alleged spending on election day and responded by praying that voters would collect whatever money was offered to them but still vote for Ademola Adeleke.
“They spent 60 billion as we heard, some places they spent as high as N50,000 for one single vote,” he alleged.
According to the businessman, after hearing reports about the alleged amount being offered for votes, he returned to his room, knelt down and prayed to God.
“On the day of the election when I heard the kind of money they were spending, I went back to my room, knelt down and prayed to God that let people collect their money and vote for Ademola Adeleke,” he said.
Adedeji also spoke about his personal prayer routine, revealing that he regularly kneels to pray and uses selected Bible passages during his prayers.
“I just want everybody to know my routine. When I kneel to pray, I have some Bible passages I read and pray with and this is part of my testimony,” he added.
His comments came after Ademola Adeleke was declared winner of the Osun State governorship election, securing a second term in office.
Adeleke defeated his major challenger, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji, in the closely contested election.
