The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Bauchi State Chapter, has commended the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) and security agencies for their roles in ensuring peaceful conduct of the August 17 local government elections.
IPAC Secretary, Khalid Arewa, who spoke on behalf of the council, said the peaceful voting process recorded across the 20 local government areas reflected the commitment of stakeholders to democratic participation.
He also appreciated Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for providing what he described as an enabling environment for the elections and for allowing political parties to participate in the process.
According to him, 15 political parties under IPAC participated in the elections, adding that the exercise provided an opportunity for citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
“On behalf of the 15 political parties under IPAC that participated in this election, we say a big thank you to His Excellency for providing the enabling environment for a credible, free and fair election,” Arewa said.
He praised BSIEC for its professionalism and security agencies for maintaining law and order throughout the exercise.
Arewa also commended the people of Bauchi State for their peaceful conduct and reaffirmed IPAC’s readiness to support efforts aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and grassroots governance.
